About
Dr. Tobet
 |
Dr. Tobet attended undergraduate
school at Stony Brook University in New York,
where he received his Bachelor of Science degree
in Biology in 1980. He received his Doctorate
of Chiropractic (D.C.) degree in 1984 from the
New York Chiropractic College. Upon graduation
from chiropractic school, Dr. Tobet traveled oversees
to work as a chiropractor in Israel, where he
gained valuable experience as a chiropractor working
with many people, including dignitaries and ballet
dancers. Since his return from Israel, for the
past 24 years, Dr. Tobet has been in private practice
in Fairfield, Connecticut. |
Dr. Tobet continued to further his education
and he became board certified as a Certified Chiropractic
Sports Physician (C.C.S.P.) in 1988. He has volunteered
his services as a sports physician at such events
as the Nutmeg Games, the Special Olympics, and the
Fairfield Half Marathon. Dr. Tobet has also served
as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Bridgeport
Chiropractic College.
Dr. Tobet believes in a multidisciplinary
approach to healthcare, which means that he believes
that all healthcare providers should work together
to find the best possible outcome for the patient.
For example, if a referral to another specialty is
necessary, Dr. Tobet will not hesitate to do so. Medical
doctors will often refer patients to Dr. Tobet as
well for chiropractic care.
Sometimes surgery and medication is
necessary, but the most fulfilling part of being a
chiropractor, for Dr. Tobet, over the past 24 years
is saving people from unnecessary surgery and medication.
Disc herniations (either in the neck or lower back),
for example, are often a reason for surgery but Dr.
Tobet has found only a few cases in 24 years that
could not be helped through chiropractic care (see
our recent testimonials). Dr. Tobet has also helped
patients who were told they needed surgery for stenosis
(also in either the neck or back).
The treatment that Dr. Tobet uses will
vary from patient to patient, based upon a thorough
understanding of the patient’s diagnosis. In
addition to traditional chiropractic techniques, Dr.
Tobet utilizes physiotherapy such as ultrasound when
necessary. Massage therapy performed by a licensed
massage therapist in the office, prior to chiropractic
treatment, is often recommended.
